I have learned a lot this semester in English 112. I plan to apply what I’ve learned in writing assignments in my other classes. When I have to write in my other classes I now will know how to synthesize my ideas and help back up my points. I will also be able to show my instructor that I can properly use MLA . Another thing I will apply in my other class writings will be my in-text citation. This will also help prove my point or solution to a problem in the class. Overall what I’ve learned in English 112 will help me continue to succeed in my other core classes.

Here in Powell, OH it seems as if all girls from the ages of 13-21 are consumed with one thing, Coach purses! The parents here in the town seem to be a bit confused on why this is such a craze. I believe te issue is that these girls are concerned with their status. They feel that having a Coach purse makes them look like they have money and feel good about themselves. Also seeing stars and famous people have these things it makes the girls think they can be more like celebrities. If we has a town make girls feel good about themselves without having a purse it may benefit us all.

*** Writing this editorial will help me with essay 3 by making me see the issue from another standing-point. It will also help me with my audience and make me more aware of how I should address them!

Why use Proposals

You might ask us to write a proposal for essay 3 for several reasons. One might be to check our topic and see if were heading in the right direction. Another reason might be to help make the writing process easier. Using the proposal outline will only help better future writings too. If a writing proposal isn’t assigned to the writing you still might want to right one. You might want to do this because it gives you a better direction where you’r going with the paper. I see my self writing in this genre maybe when trying to solve any problem or figure something out. I think proposals are a great way to help anyone with their writing!

I have arrived at the topic of fashion. Within fashion I have specifically arrived at the shoes Uggs. I am interested in this topic because I have a pair myself as well do all my friends, and love them. However this seems to be the only shoe every college girl wears. They can be seen on most any girls feet on campus. The brand has taken over most any other type of shoe. Uggs are a very expensive shoe which seem to not hold their price. The sued on the shoes gets ruined in the weather. These popular shoes don’t hold their quality yet every girl has them. The question I will ask is “Why are Uggs such a popular trend among college students?” My audience will be college girls.

I’m sure everyone has a favorite movie right? Well my favorite movie is How to Lose A Guy in Ten Days. My friend is having people sleep over at her place this weekend ,and she is debating on what movie we should watch . I’m trying to convince her on why we should watch How to Lose A Guy in Ten Days at the sleep over! I’m first going to look at movie reviews on How to Lose A Guy in Ten Days. The movie reviews I found at The Internet Movie Data Base, said”it was a great romantic movie, a chick flick that you’ll want to keep watching over and over again and will truly make you laugh until you cry” Next I’m going to ask my roommate her opinion on the movie. My roommate Natalie said,” I think the movie is a great chick flick to watch with your girlfriends and it actually has some good life lessons.” With the movie great reveiws it received and that Natalie also had good comments on the movie I’m hoping it’s a go!

Week Four

I feel that my revisions done to my final truly helped make it better then my rough! I feel that I defiantly appealed more to my audience, the editors after each main point. I also feel that changing my criterion of one paragraph helped it to not be as vague. Lastly defending My CA and R made my final much better. Over all I feel that my final draft is to my best abilities. My writing process began with me brain storming on the wiki and getting ideas from other classmates. I then started to write my rough and after you commented I made more revisions on it my self, to make the final draft. Next time I would like to work more on an outline during my brain storming.Therefor when it comes time to write my rough draft im well prepared.

I see essay 2 building upon essay 1 the critique by taking the process of summarizing as we did before and now adding another step on to it. For instance this other step would now be synthesizing. Essay 1 will help us in Essay 2 when we need to compare the summaries of all the contexts and give the gist on what we feel.

Week 3 / Wiki

I have never used anything like the wiki before. I have found it to be a very fun and helpful tool to use. The wiki is very easy to use for collaboration. All you have to do is simply click edit and then your set to make changes to the page. All these collaborations help to make the best possible essay. It is always better to get other peoples incite and ideas on what they are thinking, to make a good essay. That is why “Group Work” is an important pat of a writing class. I’m sure there are many main objectives to assigning group work but I think the main objective is to get students really thinking critically. Another objective could be to see how and why others think things the way they do. I feel that “group work” is very rewarding and helps me to write a better essay every time.

“Real World” Essay 1

There are several real world circumstances that I have used criteria to make a certain decision. A few circumstances where I used criteria is when I was picking a college, deciding a major to study in, and deciding what sorority to join. However picking a college was where I took a lot of criteria into mind. The first criterion was if the college had what I wanted to study in. The second criterion was if it was a big campus or not. Thirdly was the criterion of if it was a safe and clean environment. Next was the criterion of distance and how close campus was from my home. Lastly was the criterion of social life on campus. For example I wanted a campus that had several clubs and organizations that I could get involved in. I was debating between OSU and BGSU for my college carrier. All of this criteria helped me to break each campus down and see the positives and negatives of both. I decided that BGSU had more criteria that fitted what I wanted with a college experience. With out having this criteria to base my decision off of it would of been a lot harder to pick between the two colleges.

Week 1 reflections

My expectations in this course as a student are to succeed greatly in my writing and for others to clearly understand the point I’m trying to get across. I expect to learn how to critique and synthesize papers more easily. Last semester I succeed in audience and organization greatly. I would again like to succeed in those areas and be able to read an article and put it in my own words for my writing. I had a great experience with Amanda last semester and I expect that she will again help me to do the best I can in English 112 in a very organized way!
